Row down the Vltava river

It’s summertime in Prague and you’re looking for new things to do after work or on the weekends? Bring some beer, snacks, and a few friends to set out on a perfect day on the river itself! Take in the sights from the Vltava river and you can paddle or row your way under bridges and see Prague from a different perspective.

For 200 CZK, you can rent the boat for an hour (although in my experience they never stop you from staying out longer). If you’re out with your buddies, split the price and it’s well worth the mini boat trip. What’s great is that it caters to both the sporty and lazy type — you can either paddle with your legs as if you’re pedaling a bicycle, or you can grab onto some oars and row the boat like old times.

This simple activity has recently been catching a lot of attention and many tourists have been lining up to experience the city from the water. It’s also an alternative, affordable and more adventurous option than booking a meal on a cruise that goes along the same river. Although you have to row or paddle yourself, the experience is worth it.

How do I get a boat? On Slovanský ostrov.

What are their hours? From April to October from 11 am to 10 pm. However, if the weather is bad they usually close early or do not open at all (for obvious reasons).
